Drain a tank upstairs with just air pressure
We conducted an experiment where we elevated a hose 10 feet and emptied a full water heater using nothing but minimal air pressure. With just 0.433 PSI needed to push water up 1 foot, a mere 5 PSI of head pressure can propel water through a hose up a flight of stairs. By injecting air at the drain valve, not only is the pressure maintained, but the drain hole is also kept clear throughout the process.

It actually works!
To be honest, I thought this was gonna be a scam item, it started popping up randomly on ads and whatnot so I was suspicious of it but intrigued enough to try it. Well, it actually worked as advertised, the first time I hooked it up it didn’t do much a bit of sediment came out (thats with the cold water pressure on) but not much else, but after that first few pumps the sediment just rushed out. Every couple of minutes I would shoot some air through the air valve again just to mix the sediment up and kept doing that till the water was mostly sediment free. I also appreciate the extra inches it added to the hose connector (as the factory drain valve is rather short ) so with this I could hook up my hose no issues. I also appreciated the instructions included that differentiated between draining the tank and flushing the tank and had easy to follow steps.

If your water heater has the sediment blanket of the century, the Sediment Buster is here to say: “Not on my watch!” This thing screws into your drain valve like a champ, and when you blast it with air (via pump or compressor), it starts shoveling out sediment like a disgruntled mole on a molehill. The clear window is the cherry on top—you get to watch the sludge flow out. Easy to use, just remember to turn your water off first!

Works like a charm
So I shouldn’t admit this but I had hot water coils that would burn out every three to four months. And naturally I never really cleaned and drained my water heater. Now my water is hard! This little gadget was amazing! I had a little bike pump blasted it in there every few seconds and it drained all that gross settlement out. I would recommend buying a hose long enough to a floor drain and a bike pump if you don’t have one. But if you think you need this it’s worth it. I couldn’t even get a drop of water out of my water heater when I opened the valve.

A MUST have item for a Water Heater Flush/Drain!
We are surrounded by poor quality broken products & exaggerated claims so I must report that this item is EXACTLY as advertised!!! Good quality & sturdy build. A simple but VERY handy tool when flushing/draining a water heater. Easy to install , just attach to heater drain on one end and a hose on the other. The clear view window is a MUST have! You can see IF the water is even flowing without a helper or running back and forth to view the end of hose. The air injection (I used a small compressor) is also a MUST have! I watched the heater flow stop again and again but with a couple of blasts of air I could see the water moving and also the clogging debris! WOW! Whether you are a DIY’er or a PRO I can’t recommend the “Sediment Buster” highly enough! Makes the job easy and almost fool proof. I’m glad that I got one and you will be too! Just my .02 cents.

So freaking easy to use! We tried emptying our 15 year old water heater for the first time. It just dripped. Bought this read the instructions, hooked up a floor pump and pew, the water flowed. Anytime the water started to slow down draining, a blast from the floor pump and off to the races again. It is very easy to use. Definitely a must for home owners.
