Easy replacement of old thermostat if you read and follow directions carefully.
When my old thermostat seemed to have our AC unit running all the time, even though the set temperature was showing as current, I decided it was time to replace it.This Honeywell unit was very impressive not only in the stats & details, but other reviews led me to give it a try as well.The directions were very easy to follow and I had it swapped out with my old unit in less than 1/2 hour. I did install this unit is a different location, so I did not include all my additional work needed to cut out walls, run new wire and patch walls. I only counted the actual time to remove the old unit and install they new unit plus the setup of the new unit. With the placement of this unit now in the living room (was in the adjacent hallway), we leave it set at 75 degrees and it keeps the house very comfortable. And the AC unit is not running all the time like before.

Look closely for that c-wire!
Works great! Easy to install. C-Wire can be tricky. Our house was built in the 1990s, so it should have a c-wire, but no c-wire was visible on the old thermostat. So…we bought a c-wire adapter–but when I went to install adapter on the HVAC control board, I discovered that there was, in fact, a c-wire terminal on the furnance. And there was a brown cable with five wires connected to the HVAC control board, but only four of the five wires were used. A blue wire was unused. So, back at the thermostat, I pulled the same brown cable out from the wall and, sure enough, there was an unused blue wire tucked back behind the wall. I attached the blue wire to the terminal on the HVAC control board and then I had a ready-to-go c-wire. Once I figured out that bit, the rest of the setup was simple.Anyway, be sure to check your wiring–you may have a c-wire terminal and c-wire that is there but not visible without pulling out the wire and possibly not connected to the HVAC control board.

I can change it from another room on an IPad app.Very good at picking up Wi-Fi. I have just a heater but was able to find all wires in the wall. ( They cut them shorter but thankfully we’re connected) Again works well.I use it simply night and day temperature change as someone is always home.

This product is more accurate and easier to control. However, they did not mention that you have to pay to have a remote control. At the activation stage, it will show the error if you follow their instruction. You have to scan the barcode on the product and are asked to pay approximately $ 1.50, but it does not specify whether the payment is for one month or one year. I don’t like this phishing technique at all.

Horribe piece of crap
This thermostat is defective and Honeywell/Resideo will do nothing to honor the warranty. The customer service agent tried to argue with me about how it works and he is dead wrong! On a two stage heat pump system it will activate low/high/auxillary staging even within 1 deg F. It should not be activating the aux heat strips, let alone the high upstaging until there is at least several degrees difference. It goes immediately to all three stages and remains in this condition until the temperature is reached, then turns off. This is not how a multi stage thermostat is supposed to operate. It is junk. Resideo told me it will operate any and all stages to raise the temperature even one degree. I was going from 67 to 68 degrees with the outside temperature at 50 degrees. GEEZ. If you do not care about a thermostat that runs up your heating bill by activating all stages of your heat pump and your auxillary heat strips100% of the time then it may work for you. Honeywell tech says this is the way its supposed to work but my other Honeywells have never done this. They were insulting. They refused to honor their warranty and its less than three moths old . Just discovered the issue when it started to get cold. Amazon’s return window closed in September so Honeywell has screwed me over. Run away!

Honeywell – THE name to trust for HVAC controllers
Easy install – easy setup – easy scheduling ability. ‘Smart’ temperature adjustments mean that if it’s the scheduled time to cool the house for bed – the unit will switch to cool and cool the house down, not just turn the heat off and allow it to cool slowly. Reverse for heat – if it’s 68 in the morning and you want the house to be not greater than 72 during the day – at the appointed time – the heat comes on and takes the house to 72 – then will switch to air conditioning to maintain 72. This is great for areas of cold nights and hot days – ‘auto’ means auto and the unit will switch between the HVAC modes to maintain a temp band +~ 3°.Easy to read across the room – easy to color match with surrounding wall color – even that special shade of ‘white’. The TCC app MAKES SENSE and is easy to use and has remote control operations as long as you have WiFi in the home up and running.This system comes complete with a real manual – no smartphone online PDF nonsense or outdated YouTube videos. Honeywell knows how to do thermostats with complete – easy to understand instructions!!! O couldn’t be happier – finally!!!

El termostato es bastante robusto en términos de instalación y calidad. Pero es muy amigable de operar desde un móvil, computadora o bien desde el mismo equipo (manual).Lo que me encanta es que lo puedo controlar desde mi celular y ni siquiera tengo que estar en la casa. Puedo prenderlo, apagarlo, ajustar temperatura y programar un itinerario a control remoto.
