Never Miss an Alarm: When smoke is detected, you’ll receive instant alerts on your phone, keeping you informed no matter where you are; meanwhile, the base station and all interconnected alarms will emit sounds up to 100 dB, ensuring that everyone in your home is aware of the situation and can evacuate promptly

    Safety First
Easy to connect the sensors together. You program each sensor to the room it will be in. When you test them, the room your testing from is announced throughout the house along with sounding an alarm. In case of fire, it identifies where the fire is. Great value for the money. Excellent safety for you and your family

    Love this system
Love this system. I already have a nest that’s WiFi for years. Now I have a detector in every location of the house including the attic and shed. All will send wifi notices and have voice which is super cool. Just had a power outage and heard popping in my living room. The outage was cause by the lines outside with the wind. I noticed a circuit breaker popped and it would not reset. It was closer which is all the internet gear. When I opened the closet it smelled like burnt electrical. The surge protector has fried. It could have caught fire. Now I have a detector in there

    So far so good
Installed easily by following included instructions. Works as described! I’ve not tested it with smoke yet but otherwise all is great. Syncs fine with 5g wifi, not sure why they say it doesn’t.

  5. PMJ

Reasonably priced solution with some odd shortcomings.
This is a nicely made system that is generally easy to install, assuming you have a working App to use with it. The detectors seem well made and are easy to install. The Hub installed and connected with no problem. Once the Hub is installed, connecting the individual devices to the Hub is straight forward and it is easy to confirm that they are working. The following issues were observed:1. You are very restricted on the voice messages indicating which alarm has been triggered. The voice cannot use any thing other than the pre-stored names which you do not find out until have you have given the location a name. Thus you are restricted to the names they have which may be completely useless for you for indicating where the issue is located.2. I invited my wife so that she could monitor the system, but the app version available in the app store (Apple App Store , v2.7) does not work on her iPhone 16 Pro Max. It allowed her to create an account but then crashes when she signs in and refuses to load. I had v2.6 installed on my iPhone 16 Pro Max which appears to work. I have prevented any upgrade on my phone as it may not work. This makes the system less useful. Also note that the way the application is tied to the system via the invitation is to make sure that the person who gets the invitations uses the same email address that was used in the invite. I cannot see this explained anywhere but I am not sure how it would work otherwise.3. It is very unclear whether the detectors are connected with each other if they are paired with the Hub and the hub fails or goes off line.4. The detector to detector pairing process is complicated although when packaged together in a set they are supposed to be paired without going through a manual process.5. The suggested types of detector (smoke, heat and carbon monoxide) are not available in a convenient set as per their typical suggested home requirement, which means you need to buy a set of smoke alarms and then buy carbon monoxide and heat alarms as needed, making the process unduly complicated and more expensive than first anticipated.6. The set I was shipped was already 7 months old thus reducing the life from 10 yrs. to 9 years and 5 months. It also means that the batteries may need replacing earlier than anticipated.7. One of the detectors had had the battery removed from the alarm (they are supplied with the battery fitted and a insulating film in place to prevent the battery making contact and activating the alarm) and the protective film that prevents the alarm being activated removed. I suspect my set was a return. In summary, this may be a reasonable system that is competitively priced but there are a number of issues that make installation and configuration more complex than it need be and the fact that the App would only work on my Phone is a serious short-coming.Update 3April 2025: App updated to 2.7.1 stopped the app crashing when an invitation is received but required the app to be deleted and re installed when devices added by another user.

    Integration is great!
I love the integration and voice direction. It provides a level of comfort knowing which area set off the alarm. The only limitation is a limited selection of pre programmed rooms for voice. I have put both the CO2 combo alarms and water alarms on the same system. Easy to install and set up.

Just Bad and Frustrating, not reliable
This review is being written after almost a year of struggling with the Xsence smoke detector system. It is without a doubt one of the most unreliable products I have purchased yet. The base station consistently losses connection to the Xsence online monitoring service, even though my router shows that is indeed connected and showing data traffic. After researching the issue it appears to be an ongoing issue with Xsence products and their “sensitive hardware”. I have over 12 devices connected to a high-end router and NONE of them ever have an issues with my network setup. Even the low-end home security cameras on the same network stay connected without issue, all day, everyday. However, the Xsence drops off almost every other day, if not multiple times in the same afternoon, according to the app. What a horrible product. If you want a system that kind of works, and God forbid you have a fire while away from your house, it might notify you, if it’s online at the time, than Xsence is the one for you.Why the developer can’t make a more reliable, adaptable, and dependable product that is compatible no matter what router, ISP, or network settings you may have in place is baffling to me in this day and age. A couple $40 wifi security cameras work more reliably, heck even my cheap Roku is better with network connectivity, IF thats even the issue.I know what you’re thinking, is the firmware up to date, did you try resetting the base station SEVERAL times, are any other devices having issues on my home network, is the base station literally sitting next to the router on the same shelf?Believe me, I’ve tried everything, and my conclusion is that the Xsence service is overloaded and unable to support all the consumers connected to it.To see what others are experiencing check Redit for yourself, then decide if you want to purchase some very expensive stand-alone smoke detectors, that are sometimes on-line. It will give you some peace of mind when it’s working properly. But if you’re looking for something more reliable, you may want to purchase something other than Xsence. If an Xsence rep reads this, I am not interested in any ADDITIONAL trouble shooting efforts, nor am I expecting a refund. Instead, how about dedicating that time to making a more functional product and a more reliable monitoring system.
