Perfect for food scraps
What can I say? These bags hold food scraps and other compostable items until I can take the bag to the city’s transfer station compost bin. The bags hold up well enough that I can confidently take them in my car without worrying about leakage. I don’t know what happens to them after I drop them off, but I assume they break down appropriately over time.

Please use degradable bag instead of plastic bags. These degradable bags are best with DRY discarded matter.

Compostable and useful
These bags are apparently compostable, unlike similar bags on Amazon that claim to decompose when exposed to sunlight and the elements. Bags that need sunlight to decompose are not going to decompose in a landfill. Compostable bags should work in a landfill. It might seem trivial to worry about whether a bag full of plastic trash will decompose, but every little bit helps, and using these bags does help to send a message that the environmental impacts of plastic are important. I appreciate the lack of any strong odor from the plastic in these bags; I hate the scented garbage bags because they really don’t kill garbage odor, but instead just add their own odor to it as an attempt at coverup. However, I gave only four stars rather than five for just one reason: the bags are a little too thin to withstand poking from box corners inside. The bags don’t tear, but they do get holes from a moderate amount of pressure from a product box corner.

These are the best compostable bags I have ever used. I have a 5 gallon bucket with a lid that I use to store food for composting drop off, and these fit it perfectly. They are easy to tear off the roll and are sturdy without ripping or tearing easily once filled.

Lifesaver in a bag.
This liner was a lifesaver. It keeps the compost can clean and smell free. The size was perfect for my small can. I have a small compost Brown can and keep it in the kitchen, which makes it easy to put all the waste in the can.

After diving head-first into the testy waters that are “eco-friendly trash bags”, hours behind a bright screen reading about “biodegradable vs compostable” and “composting conditions”, I contentedly settled on these bags.***NOTE: Many items that claim to be “eco-friendly” are full of s***. Don’t be lazy and rely on product titles and claims, meant only to bring in more money, find the facts.***Back to these bags: I love them. They’re home compost ok which means they WILL actually break down properly in the dump rather than breaking down into harmful components or needing specific conditions to properly decompose (conditions needed for most compostable products to return to the earth—CONDITIONS THE DUMP WILL NOT MEET). They’re strong, don’t leak, fit my trash can, don’t break down, and don’t make me wince every time I take out the trash and imagine it sitting in the nearest dump for years to come… I produce very little trash since I try to be conscious of materials/contents when purchasing, reuse, recycle, and compost as much as I can. Therefore, my trash bags sit in my kitchen bin for a hot minute before they’re full enough to be taken out (I really ought to buy a smaller can, but don’t want to spend unnecessary money or get rid of one that’s perfectly fine). I haven’t had any problems with stink, breakdown, ripping, or capacity. Plus, my heart is a little lighter knowing I’m making one more transition for the better. Join me in doing better.

We’ve used these for years now.
We have used these for years now. They are sturdy enough to be a staple but they also will break down in a compost environment which is important for us all. If you’re dumping out a lot of wet or liquid materials, the bag is more likely to break but we do not have this issue consistently at all. A few times a year it will rip but it’s usually user error. They fit perfectly and stay in tact all the way to garbage day.
