Perfect Smart Scene Controller with Matter
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’ve been looking for a smart scene controller to use in my bedroom so I can turn off all lights in my house, change the AC, or lock all the doors. This is exactly what I needed! I like that I don’t need to yell at Alexa and can take a lot of actions in a few clicks. Exposing the smart buttons to matter was super easy and then using Home Assistant I’ve been able to do whatever I want. I do wish the knob could also be an exposed entity but I found it easy to create preset AC or Volume options that I just had to click. Plus it’s another temperature sensor!

    Quick support.
The old one wasn’t working correctly so Amazon sent me out a new one very quickly.

Got it at almost half off otherwise I would return it **Updated
It is currently 105F outside. The display shows 5 degrees F. Sorta missing the other 2 characters. The device is nice but its going to take a lot of googling to get this working. I don’t have too many switchbot devices. The ones I have were not automatically paired, they are paired to my hub 2. This sort of makes sense but is rather annoying. They are not the only manufacturer to do this as my Aqara hubs do this also. I would just think a device could be seen by other hubs especially in the same eco system when they support the same “smart” technology like matter, bluetooth, zigbee etc. You should be able to move a device to a “primary” hub where it is preferred and should that hub go down, the other hub or hubs would perform as fail over hubs making the environment much more available. Anyhoo, this is nice, I see zero value in it. I would return it but I got it at a great deal so I will spend time instead of money to see if it can do anything useful. If you are heavy into switchbot great, just prepare to have to move all your devices to this hub manually. I could be totally wrong here as I’ve had it online for all of 10 minutes but the fact it can’t even display 3 characters for the temperature is sad. In the app it shows correctly, the device, not so much.**UpdateI’ve had some more time with the device and I was a bit quick to jump on the negative side. I’m upping it to 3 stars because I can’t figure out how to get the matter to work with both Home Assistant and Apple Home. this is something I need and I do not understand the limitation. So the Apple TV remote aspect is awesome. It works great. Importing your existing switchbot devices is equally easy and great. I created a virtual button and it popped up in home assistant and I was able to quickly create an automation. These are just some of the basic things I’ve done but I can see this being more useful once I can have both Apple Home and Home Assistant see the matter virtual buttons. Hopefully a software update SOON will resolve this? Perhaps it’s a limitation of matter?**Update 2You can have this in multiple matter ecosystems. It was my lack of understanding. In my case I had added this to Apple Home first. All I had to do was go into the hub settings and then tap Turn On Pairing Mode. I got a code and put that into home assistant and it was added very quickly. I’ve upped this to 4 stars. This device is great. I just wish I could have it show the temperature that is over 100′ and also the temperature update is SUPER SLOW. It was like 5 hours behind what was the actual temerature. To be fair my meter pro is also like this. As they are both always powered devices they should really update far more often. I have noticed too that if you modify or add a matter button, it takes some time to sync to the device from the app. I think there may be a way to manually sync but I have not found it yet.

I primarily use Apple Home with an Apple TV as my hub, and the SwitchBot Hub 3 has truly taken my smart home setup to the next level. Thanks to this hub, I was able to connect my portable air conditioner to Apple Home. Before, I had to manually open the app every time I wanted to control it. Now, I can trigger it with simple shortcuts directly from the Apple Home app, which is way more convenient — especially in the summer when I want to cool down the house before getting home. One of the best features of the Hub 3 is its built-in sensors for temperature, humidity, and ambient light. These let me create custom automations, like automatically turning on the AC when it gets too hot. That’s especially important for me since I have a small dog at home, and I want to make sure he’s comfortable and safe during hot days while I’m away. I also have scenes set up to turn on lights when I arrive in the evening, making the home feel more welcoming. The Matter support makes integration with Apple Home incredibly easy and seamless — no complicated setup required. On top of that, I was able to connect several “non-smart” devices that use infrared remotes, like fans, lights, my soundbar, and more. Now I can control all of them with Siri or automate them based on time or conditions in the home. One thing I especially love about this new model is the ability to use physical buttons for triggering simple and efficient shortcuts. It’s incredibly satisfying to be able to quickly control devices or scenes with a tap, without always relying on voice commands or navigating apps.Overall, the Hub 3 has become a central piece of my smart home. It’s easy to install, works reliably, and adds smart functionality to so many older devices. I recommend it without hesitation and I’m more than satisfied with my purchase.

I’ve been using this SwitchBot Hub 3 for a few days now, and it’s quickly become a central part of my home automation setup. The installation was super straightforward, I had it connected to my devices and integrated with Alexa and HomeKit in less than 10 minutes. What really stands out is the versatility. The IR remote function is brilliant, I was able to control my old air conditioning unit, which isn’t smart, directly from my phone. It’s like giving a second life to some of my older tech. The built-in thermometer and hygrometer are a nice bonus. It’s been helpful to get accurate readings for different rooms, especially when trying to fine-tune the heating and cooling. So far, everything has been responsive and stable. It’s honestly taken my home automation to the next level without needing to replace existing gear. Very impressed!
