I wasn’t sure what to expect from a simple steel corn peeler, but this little tool from IdeasSharpness really blew me away. I cook a lot with fresh corn—soups, salads, salsas—and removing kernels used to be the messiest, most annoying part of the process. Not anymore! It took me all of 30 seconds to figure it out. Just align it, apply a little pressure, and slide. No complicated parts, no learning curve. The blade is sharp in the best way—it glides right down the cob and cuts cleanly without shredding or mashing the kernels. I’ve used it on a dozen cobs now and it’s consistently smooth and fast, with no clogging or slipping.Cleanup is easy too—just rinse and dry. Where were these when I had braces?! I learned about this tool about six months ago and finally got the courage to get it. Wow! This actually works really well! There is a little bit of a learning curve on how to hold the corn, but once you get it, it slices the corn off the cob perfectly. Also, we couldn’t believe how much corn is on one cob. This tool keeps the kernels out of your teeth and took way less time to remove the kernels than a knife. The price was reasonable too. The blade is very sharp and the size is just right, though if I were to suggest an improvement I’d like to see a reusable sleeve to cover the blade when it is not in use. I’m storing these on my magnetic knife rack because it is made of durable metal.

This corn peeler is definitely sturdy, strong, and wear-resistant. It’s also easy to clean and dishwasher safe, which I appreciate after cooking. That said, it’s a bit tricky to use. It tends to remove only the tops of the kernels instead of the whole kernel, which is frustrating. It also works better on cooked corn—it really struggles with raw or uncooked cobs.Overall, it’s well-made but doesn’t perform as well as I had hoped. Great for occasional use on cooked corn, but not ideal if you want full kernels or plan to use it for raw corn prep.

This corn peeler works incredibly well—it takes the kernels off fast. Though a bit messy. That said—be careful! The blades are seriously sharp.
