Great price to become more energy efficient!.
We moved into a new to us home, where there was not a Sensi for the front portion of the house. I found myself frustrated with the 1990s technology not working as it should, and realized I had been spoiled previously by relying on a much easier to program Sensi. The display is basic – not as complex as some other models, but with the app, programming is easy. Having various schedules saved, depending on the day’s activities is ideal.Well worth the very affordable price to make the house more energy efficient.

Great price! Works with no C-Wire.
Easy to self install, took maybe 20 minutes to install and set up. Install the app and it walks you through it step by step. Nice design. Easy to use app. Actually works with Alexa without having the C-wire. All for a very good price.

Easy to use and works great!
This was purchased for a church building where areas are unoccupied at various times. This first purchase was a trial. The heating system is hot water with a central boiler serving several zones. We found this thermostat much easier to install and program than a previous brand we had we had tried to use. It connected easily with our existing Wi-Fi. For our system (heat only) it required a “C” wire but fortunately the existing wiring contained a wire we could repurpose. We haven’t used the early start feature yet we’ve just estimated the time to achieve the set temperature and programmed the system to come on soon enough to achieve it. A conversation we had with the the help line informed us that the thermostat will learn the time needed to achieve the correct temperature. The one call to the help line was very useful. The wait to be connected was fairly long, 15 minutes or so, but the gentleman was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions we asked. We have also emailed a question and received an answer but the response is slow. We’re pleased with the appearance of the unit it looks very solid and it’s not obtrusive and it is also easy to read. We also like the fact it can be locked to prevent unauthorized adjustment. It has been convenient and easy to install the app on multiple phones and nice to be able to check and adjust programs remotely. It is also nice that it connects to some weather information and displays the outside temperature. It’s great to have the room at a comfortable temperature when you expect it to be.We will also connect the a/c system to it later which now runs on a separate device. We have been pleased with the unit and have ordered two more for other areas.

An abomination when it loses connectivity
The Sensi Lite could be a simple little device, to fit the niche for those that don’t need all the programming options of more expensive units, but that’s not the case. We purchased this for our 2nd home. Our primary home has a more advanced unit from a better known smart thermostat vendor. It took a bit to get WiFi to connect on the Sensi Lite, but eventually it happened. All seemed well. However, this rural area tends to lose power a couple times a year. So, the batteries will die. When the batteries are replaced, the Lite doesn’t seem to want to reconnect. The app appears to have an option to Reconnect, but it NEVER works. We always end up having to remove and add the device back.As others have stated, the problem is when you go to setup on the thermostat (by holding the one tiny magical touch area on the unit for four seconds), the app will seem to be connected, but it doesn’t trigger the goofy scanning LED sequence on the Sensi Lite unit. The thermostat will then drop out of Setup. No errors, no help from the thermostat, and the app’s scan simply times out.Do yourself a favor, get at basic unit from a better vendor. From my experience, I would avoid anything by Copeland (formerly Emerson Climate Technologies). This thermostat is simply frustrating.

    Exactly as described.
Exactly as described. Super easy installation guide on the app. It took me a minute to figure out the programming but the unit works as expected.

Box says it has an installation manual, it doesn’t normally does give the app on the play store
The title of this review says it all, a shipping box that provides no installation information. How can a company release a product that lists an “Installation Guide” on its box and then ships the product without one.It says there’s a mobile app for control, but does not give its name. Rufus doesn’t know it. Claims it’s a PDF.And he doesn’t know if it mounts on the base of the white non-wifi thermostat one might be replacing. Shame on Emerson for not making it compatible and not documenting it isn’t.By chance I read the Amazon reviews so I knew what to do, but that’s not what a company should count on.

    Simplicity and connectivity is keen
After Amazon Thermostat, this is totally different experience. Was surprised with quality and connectivity and simplicity of installation. I bouth 2, the full version and lite version, so far so goodWas using for about 3 weeks. Got notifications when door is open, I can set up limit on temperature, which is Incredibly useful for rental.

App does not require invasive consents
Other companies that make these programable/wi fi thermostats, use downloaded apps that only work if you give them permission to (essentially) have access to your entire phone. This company does not. The thermostat works great and I wish I would have gotten one years ago.

I managed to get this working with my old brivis gas heating unit. This thermostat need C wire for gas heating.Old thermostat had only two wires. But the heater unit had C wire built-in which I rewired to connect to this thermostat to make it work.Setup is very straightforward. It’s being one month since I installed and working perfectly.Happy with thr product so far.Note that this is a US product and it has US units and location/ weather information is only related to US or Canada. But I use Alexa and Google Home to align with my location in AU.

Great thermostat but make sure you have the right hook ups and wiring on your old furnace before removing your old thermostat or you will be in for a headache, basically do your research before tearing things apart and watch plenty of videos. Thermostat works great once it was hooked up and being able to control from your phone is a blessing.

    Very nice and good price

  12. Colin Kestell

This shouldn’t be sold globally. You can’t use it as a smart device outside Canada and the US.

I had tried 2 different units of the same model and they both exhibited the same issues. The problem was a loss of wi fi signal and the system was going into off mode. Tried calling the help desk but was but on hold hearing the same message for 20 minutes. There was no message stating that there was a back log of customers. Appearance and simplicity I give it 5 stars but automated functionality I have to fail it.
