Nervous as hell, but I did it, mission accomplished!
I recently purchased a new GE Profile front-load washer and dryer, scheduled for delivery on May 26th. After remodeling my garage laundry space, I decided to clean the dusty dryer duct vents to prepare for my new appliances. I found a comprehensive vent cleaning kit that included all the necessary tools and more—an impressively well-thought-out package.Initially, I was unaware of the importance of regularly cleaning vent ducts. Thankfully, YouTube provided invaluable guidance, highlighting both the process and potential pitfalls. Without those tutorials, I might have encountered serious issues, like leaving the brush stuck inside the duct—a concern that admittedly made me nervous. After repeatedly watching instructional videos, I felt confident enough to start. The tutorials recommended a specific vent kit and advised using a shop vac to collect the lint. Considering that the ducts hadn’t been cleaned for over 20 years—since the previous homeowner—I anticipated a challenging task. The job progressed slowly, cleaning one rod at a time. I securely black-taped the screw areas to prevent the rods from disconnecting inside the duct. It’s crucial to rotate the brush clockwise; going counterclockwise might cause the rods to unscrew, posing a significant retrieval problem. My duct system included three 90-degree turns and a quarter turn, spanning about 35 feet. Initially, I pushed too hard at the first 90-degree bend, causing the rods to flex and jam up. Fortunately, I managed to pull them out without damage. On my second attempt, I adopted a steady, patient approach—gently pulling the drill back and forth and pausing when needed. After navigating the first bend, progress became smoother. Maintaining a slow, deliberate pace, I carefully advanced through the remaining turns over the next three hours. At the final quarter turn, I couldn’t push any further, so I checked the opposite duct end—and success! The brush had reached the end, and the ducts were finally clean.Removing the brush was easy, but disassembling the tightly screwed rods required two sets of pliers. In hindsight, that tightness was reassuring. This is the longest review I’ve ever written, but I believe it’s crucial for anyone considering dryer duct cleaning. I’m thrilled with the results and grateful for this vent kit with everything I was going to need and a shop vac I purchased from Amazon. While more than a few people report difficulties, patience and thorough research make all the difference. Moving forward, I plan to clean the ducts every 1–2 years to avoid another lengthy session.I hope this review helps you. Don’t stress—just do your homework and give it a try!

    Dryer vacuum system…
You need this…!I thought my dryer vent and associated plumbing was clean. No even close. Honestly surprised we didn’t have a dryer fire.We have the usual flexible dryer hose that leaves the dryer, but then the previous owners had that transition into PVC pipe through the floor then under the house eventually existing on the side of the house. No kidding, the straight piece of 6ft PVC was clogged allowing only about half of the dryer exhaust to exit. It was FULL of years and years of accumulated lint. Used one of the attachments and flexible pieces screwed together and easily removed the blockage. Put the plumbing back together and turned the dryer on to make sure all was in working order. I’m not joking when I say it sounded like a jet engine. Two things to mention. First, no more possibility of a dryer fire. Second, clothes dry on one cycle now. It used to take two, sometimes three cycles, to get a load of clothes properly dried.Again, this is what you’re looking for.PS, you can also use this to clean the bottom of the refrigerator.

A lot in the box. Only needed the wand extenders, drill bit, digger and brushes. Glad I got this.
A lot of different things in the box. I only needed the essentials, and I discarded a few things I will never need, like the cheap gloves and plastic tarp. I thought the extensions I had ordered were to be linked with little ball bearings that depressed as they met an extension and then opened in place, locking the extensions together. Instead, I got links that just screwed together. I think on balance the screw-in option was better. I set my drill for slow speed and the direction that kept the extension connections tight. The connections did stay tight and did not unwind. (I actually needed two wrenches to unscrew them after I cleared my dryer duct and went to put the set away.) I wish the extensions had a bit more firmness, since they tended to twist when they were outside the ductwork and I was trying to fish them into the duct hole, but I know that is a balancing act when a duct has bends and curves and curving is needed. Perhaps the seller can sell alternative wands that are stiffer and stronger when a duct is straight – as mine was. I chose this seller in part because the package also included a kind of “bit” at the end, that looked a little like an open alligator mouth. It was very useful for digging into some clogged lint balls and breaking up hardened lint that a brush wouldn’t be able to scrape out. On balance, this set was a good buy, and it certainly saved me a lot of money by having someone come in to do the work. My duct is very clear now, and I now exactly where the duct runs, and I know where the bottlenecks are and where lint will accumulate in the future. The work of clearing a dryer duct takes patience, however. Plan to spend some time on this, and be methodical.

Great too everyone with a dryer should own one of these.
It worked great to unclog my dryer vent. I bought a new dryer that was more picky about the pressure in the exhaust vent than my 20 year old dryer was and the clothes weren’t drying effectively. After using a brush to clean a little I tried out the drill extensions and cleaned the entire vent and the dryer was a lot better. The attachments are long enough to reach anything and it was super easy to attach it to my drill or use the hand held brush.

    Works great!
Just got this today and since I have never cleaned my dryer vent with a product such as this, it took me about 2 hours to complete. My wand kept getting stuck in the vent so I recommend feeding one wand in at a time then use the drill. Close to 40ft of feeding with only one wand not being used. My bristle did fall off inside my vent at one point so I just blew it out with my leaf blower (I accidentally set my drill in reverse). The wand also got stuck in the vent a few times, but feeding it upwards with the drill helped to loosen it. Also, the added attachments helped me to get into areas in my dryer that I was unable to reach with my vacuum, so that was awesome.

Does the job, great value for money. All the tools are useful and can be used around the house for other things as well. Vacuum adapter turned our central vac into a crevice tool which is helpful! Cleaned out our dryer vents and couldn’t believe all the crap that came out. Saved paying someone $200 to do a simple job like this.

First off, I was very impressed by the amount of items provided in this kit. There are a few items that I will not use, like the gloves and garbage bags. They were cheap quality and I prefer to use what I already own. That being said, definitely wear a pair of gloves while feeding the snake into the dryer vent with your drill. You may encure friction burns. The adapter that attaches to the dryer vent that accepts the shop vac and fishing tool fit perfectly for me. I used my old ridged shop vac with a large hose, but the kit came with multiple adapters so you can use most vacuums. The tape provided was flexible and sticky and worked very well to hold the adapter into the dryer vent hole. Please note, that you will probably need to remove the dryer vent cover on the outside of your house so that it will accept the adapter and seal up properly.Be careful not to add to many pieces of the fishing rod tool at one time. They can get twisted up which will wreck them. I ended up only adding 2 at a time while feeding them into the vent. Any more then that, it is hard to control and feed that many lose rod’s, and the drill by yourself. You may need a pair of pliers or 2 to get them apart after you are done.My dryer vents at the front of the house and the dryer is near the back of my house. So probably around 25 feet or so. The kit comes with a lot more rod’s then I required. So that was good.As a bonus, you can use the rod’s for fishing wires behind walls or ceiling as well!!!There is a cool adapter that comes with the kit, that let’s you shove any smaller vacuum nozzle into it and adapts to a 3’ish precision hose for getting into cracks and crevices and it’s quite flexible. I will be using that with my Milwaukee M18 vacuum to extend the hose, and get into tighter spaces. Please don’t expect this kit to be super high quality and think that you can startup a dryer vent cleaning business. LolBut for the DIYer, the kit is perfect and I would expect you will be able to get a lot of years out of it, if you take it easy.Would recommend, and would buy the kit again.

This kit worked well. Used it to clean lint from inside the dryer and to clean the 15ft long dryer vent. Definitely made the job easier.Only issue was the condition of the box when it arrived. Product box was ripped at one end. It was not shipped in an outer box or wrapped in paper. The product box is not strong. The first thing I did was to do an inventory to make sure nothing was missing. It was ok.

  10. Admittedly Health-Nut

It has a great long extension. If you need to use it full length it will find its way better with a power screw driver than trying to push it.IF you have the flimsy air duct behind the dryer, do not use the power screw driver to that point because it will tear it down. You can use the brush but just by hand. Those flimsy air ducts I would recommend to discard and buy a metal one ( there are flexible ones). The best is a solid pipe with no ripples. Those ripples is where the lint wants to hide. The closer is the accumulated lint to the dryer the more potential for a bad situation…Fire? Rare but has happened.A good idea is to run the dryer in the cold setting after brushing the pipes for 30 seconds. More stuff will come out.The blue hose is usefull for cleaning under the dryer filter. Some dryer brands have very little lint. Others have way too much. I have rentals, it is crazy. The cap for attaching both the brush and the vacuum cleaner is only for a wide vacuum hose like a Shop Vac. It also doesn’t always fit well at the end of the exhaust pipe (outside on the exterior wall) . I made a better one with a 4″ cap I bought at Rona. The holes were drill by my hubby to fit OUR vacuum cleaner and a smaller hole for the brush extensions. To take the extensions apart you may need two pliers to gently turn one side counterclock wise and keep the other side from turning too.A goopd advise is to install a lint trap. You need to cut the exhaust pipe pass the dryer for this purpose. The lint traps connect on the bottom and top of the dryer exhaust pipe. That will also allow you to get the brush with an extension through the lint trap towards the dryer and in the opposite direction. ( Look at photos of lint traps to understand what I mean) I recommed Canadian Made Reversomatic, sold at Amazon. Know that you will pay for shipping even if you are prime member. Their least expensive one is model LT 180F-44. It is metal and it will never crack. The door stays behind 2 metal tabs nice and tight. The door and the filter are in one piece. Super easy to clean. With a lint trap and this dryer vent kit you will have squaky clean dryer pipes and piece of mind.
