Genuine competitor to a Thermapen One, at a much lower price
To get straight to the point: this is quite possibly my favorite instant read thermometer at any price. After a few months using it, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.Cheaper thermometers have come a long way since I bought a Thermopop for $20 about 6 years ago. At the time, I thought it was the sweet spot for value, even though it took something like 3 seconds to get a reading. Two years ago, I decided to treat myself to a Thermapen One when Thermoworks was running a good promo, and it was a huge improvement in both form factor and reading speed. I thought it would be the last instant read I would ever need, after reading on so many websites that the Thermapen was the best of the best. However, a YouTube channel by the name of CultFlav did a mass review of instant read thermometers, and they were so impressed by the ThermoMaven that I made a mental note of the brand. When I saw this thermometer on sale for $20, I figured that I may as well see for myself whether the brand was worthy of the hype. I didn’t expect to be so blown away.I tested by putting both into a glass of water and seeing how quickly they settled on a temperature (and I wanted to see if the ThermoMaven would have the same results as the Thermapen for accuracy). The ThermoMaven is as fast as a Thermapen One, or at least so imperceptibly slower that it doesn’t make a difference in normal use. The form factor is similar, but the ThermoMaven has some improvements that really push it over the edge for me. For one, it takes AAA batteries, which for me is a huge improvement over the watch battery that the Thermapen One requires. Another much appreciated feature for me is that, unlike the Thermapen, the ThermoMaven is magnetic, allowing you to stick it to your fridge (or in my case the side of the range hood) instead of stuffing it away in an all-too-crowded utensil drawer.I cannot believe that I got a thermometer this capable for the same price that I got a Thermopop for all those years ago. It’s a miracle that this thermometer costs a fraction of a Thermapen One, and somehow manages to improve on the design in substantial ways. I recommend it without any hesitation to everyone I know who enjoys cooking. If this thermometer doesn’t appear as the budget pick (or even the overall pick) on any of Wirecutter/ATK/other large sites, I will seriously lose faith in their ability to select products for review.

REALLY FAST AND ACCURATE!!!
over the years of being an executive chef I have used COUNTLESS types of thermometers. Anything from the analog dial type to the digitals and over the years the technology has gotten greater and more advanced. I have probably (no exaggeration) 20 different thermometers.The last 1 second instant read I got is still working fine and I still use it, but THESE F1 stealth quick reads are QUICK! and actually faster than my other 1 second read.I like this one so much that after I got the 1st one, I ordered a second one!!! The accuracy is spot on!!

Handy and effective little thermometer…
This handy little thermometer does a pretty good job. At first, it didn’t seem to be working because the temperature that it displayed was about 10° higher than the more expensive Thermomaven wireless thermometer that I normally use. I realized that if you mostly insert the probe, then the temperature will read a little high. When I later inserted the probe about an inch or two into the meat, the temperature pretty much matched the reading of the more expensive wireless Thermomaven thermometer.I’ve only used this thermometer once so I cannot speak about its longevity, however, it does seem pretty well constructed.If you are looking for a budget thermometer, then this model seems to be a pretty good choice. If you’re willing to spend more than I would consider the wireless Thermomaven model WT10. That version uses an app that is really terrific.In full disclosure, I must say that these thermometers were provided to me free of charge.

Super Fast & Accurate – A Must-Have for Any Kitchen!
I was blown away by how fast and accurate this thermometer is! It gives readings in about 1 second, and the ±0.5℉ accuracy is spot-on. Cool Thermometer, Great For Gifting
I’ve used other Thermomaven thermometers and they’ve all met my expectations, so I didn’t hesitate to pick this one up for a friend. It’s pretty aesthetic and sleek for a thermometer, and the rotating display makes it easy to read at any angle. It seems to settle on a temperature within a second as advertised. Overall this is a nice thermometer that makes for a great gift.

Fast Read Out! Auto-Fixes Orientation. Better than most!
I hate the other ones. Especially the one from Target where the lock button was the same as the On button after it sleeps.This feels rigid. And the magnet is strong.And it’s FAST !! For now. Probably may stay fast too. I’ve tapped it to a cold coke. Bam.. 40F . Then inserted it into the chicken, instead change to 160F. Magic!

The product is sturdy and easy to handle. It turns off automatically when the probe is snapped back to the closed position with a click sound that confirms closure. It automatically turns on when the probe is released. There is a tinny button that converts the reading from F to C degrees. The is the only button that the device has. The LCD display is clear red and the digits are large and easy to read. The enclosure for the battery (one battery) is secured by a screw which is an excellent idea for this device, since it reduces the chance of accidentally dropping the battery cover and the battery. This adds sturdiness to the device. It is clearly a well-designed device. I did not yet test the accuracy or the speed of measurements.
