Kenmore BC2005 Pet Friendly Lightweight Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner with Extended Telescoping Wand, HEPA Filter, Retractable Cord, and 2 Cleaning Tools

I got this for carpeted stairs, it is super.
The PowerMate (big motorized head) works on stairs and its edge cleaning is good enough to avoid bringing out the crevice tool. The Pet Tool is 1/4 the width of the PowerMate so it takes 4x longer to do stairs with the pet tool. The pet tool is motorized (not air driven) and it sucks better than any air “turbo” tool. The pet tool can do vertical stair risers.The canister has a stair grip which holds the body on the stairwell. It works but if you step on or kick the body it will fly off and (maybe) take you with it. I can carry the body while vacuuming the stairs because the entire thing is only like 13lbs but small or elderly people may feel it is too much to carry on stairs.So stairs, 7 stars, superior stair vacuum. For general tile, carpet, wood, runners and area carpets, the suction is off the charts. It will easily pick up and suck in small area carpets; there is a reason the suction adjust is on the grip.Power on/off & PowerMate on/off are on the grip so you don’t have to reach down to the floor. The hepa bag and hepa body filter keep all the dirt in; you will not smell your carpet as you clean it. Like all canisters it can be a challenge getting tangled up in the cord, hose and canister. There’s a definite trick to it; I stepped on the hose a few times permanently denting it…it’s small and fortunately everything still works. Overall this is a 5 star vacuum and spending more will not result in better cleaning.Downsides: it’s all plastic so if it lasts 3 years I’ll be surprised. The hose, grip, wand and PowerMate do NOT stand secuely; falling over so easily I always lean them against something; the sound of the grip hitting the floor is gut wrenching. The cord needs to be longer but will work in any room 25-30 feet wide or smaller.Many complain the floor tool door opens up and, yes it does when you press the button. This happens when you touch the hose to the button or when you pick up the canister and touch the button. You have to be aware of where that button is and avoid touching it.The cord winds into the body and I recommend you pull it all the way out; it gets very hot in the body which is dangerous for the vacuum and the cord. The accessory tools lid only pops up 45 degrees and does not stay open by itself; irritating. The overall fit and finish are good but being all plastic it’s just not as crisp as metal vacuums. I do think the wand, pet tool, crevice tool and brush are excellent; probably best you’ll find at this price.As for how much the bag holds, I did 9 floors and 6 stairwells and filled it 2/3’rds. I changed the bag at that point to see what it was picking up: tons of dirt, carpet fiber, people hair and fistfuls of cat fur. The blue light will turn on when you stopper the crevice tool against a cushion or something but that does not mean the bag is full. The bag refill number is 20-53292 Q/C bag (6-pack). Should last a year for me. The bag looks 2x too big for the vacuum but it fits easily. By the way, the bags feel luxurious.I clean the brush roll every use to remove hair and carpet threads (very easy to do). The motor belt is enclosed in the head and the manual says to open up the head and clean out the innards at regular intervals. When fibers get inside the roller and belt, that will kill the vacuum so the best prevention is to keep strands from accumulating on the brush roll(s).

If I could give it no stars, I would. I will start by saying this is the worst vacuum ever, just in case you don’t want to read the rest.I bought the “Kenmore 600 Series Pet Friendly Lightweight Bagged Canister Vacuum with Pet PowerMate, Pop-N-Go Brush, 2 Motors, HEPA Filter, Aluminum Telescoping Wand, Retractable Cord and 4 Cleaning Tools, Purple” after doing a lot of research. They said it was great if you had pets. That was exactly what I was looking for—a vacuum that would work just for pet hair. However, that isn’t what happened.From day one, I had to clean out the tube near where the hose goes into the vacuum and then into the bag, I thought maybe it was a one-time thing because it was getting pet hair. It turned out that I had to do that almost every time I used it. I contacted customer support through Amazon, they told me I had to contact Kenmore. Which I did and they told me they would not do a refund no matter what. So I had my fiancé look at the vacuum and clean it out really well. However, that didn’t work either. It kept getting clogged. I started using my old vacuum again. But the more I thought about it, the more I got upset. I didn’t pay that much for a vacuum that doesn’t work. It was a bad design, first of all which I should have noticed from the photos, but I thought “It will have enough suction to get it in the bag, but no, it didn’t. Then I tried to use it again, and the head part clogged up. I was fed up at this point and called Amazon back.They again wanted me to call support for Kenmore and said they would stay on the line with me so they could also help with any information I might need, and to hear them say, “We will not offer a refund.”I called support for Kenmore, and after being on the phone with them for a little bit, the woman said, “I’m sorry, I spaced out. Can you repeat what you said from the beginning?” I repeated what I said and told the woman that due to the design of the vacuum, it wouldn’t get any better, and I have to unclog it each time I use it. After being on the phone for almost an hour, here is what the bottom line was:• They wanted proof. A video of me vacuuming, and showing that it wasn’t picking up anything because it was clogged.• They wanted me to get a screw driver and take apart the head of the vacuum myself (even though I don’t know what I am doing) and figure out where the clog is while also taking pictures for more proof, but a video would be better if I could manage that, she said.I told them I was not comfortable with taking the head of the vacuum off, and she got very rude with me. She also tried to tell me that I had the vacuum for over a year and they don’t provide more help, but I told her I did not have it for over a year, so she wanted more proof of when I bought the vacuum.In the end, Kenmore wanted me to “just keep fixing the clog myself” when I would vacuum. Since I live in the middle of nowhere and there is no person to “fix it” near me. Due to the design of this vacuum, there is no fixing it unless you change the design.Keep in mind, I still had Amazon on the phone with me for the entire call. While the woman from Kenmore kept being rude and saying over and over again that they will not take the vacuum back or offer a refund, even if I sent them the photo/video proof of it not working.I was at a loss as to why Kenmore would not back up their product. I did notice it says they have a low return rate. That is simply because they won’t take their product back, not because they have great products, or that is my experience.I would not recommend this vacuum to anybody, or any Kenmore product due to their support or lack of it.

I purchased this Kenmore 600 Series Canister Vacuum Cleaner back in July. I generally like to use an item that is a little more on the high end (pricewise) for a little while before I do a review. My reasoning is that I want to make sure it works and doesn’t disappoint me a few weeks or even a month after I buy it.I absolutely love it! I’ve always liked using a canister vacuum as I prefer that style over an upright one and I like the Kenmore name and I have been happy with the brand.The suction is incredible. I love that it has a feature where you can increase or decrease the suction with a slider so if you are about to suck something up into the hose, you just move the slider to the least amount of suction and it will let go. LOL! This feature is nice for smaller area types of rugs so you can decrease the suction as the beater bar comes near to the edge of the loose rug which would prevent it from getting sucked up. I did mention that there IS a lot of suction.It has onboard attachments and the little door pops open by the touch of your foot when you want to swap them out and it has a tiny light that comes on. It comes with a nice size beater bar for doing your carpeting and you can exchange it for a floor attachment if you wish.It also has an extended wand feature which helps to reach higher places when needed. I also have to comment on the purple colour. It’s absolutely beautiful. I’m quite happy. I try to take extra care of it because it’s so lovely to look at!There is a HEPA filter etc…By the way, with regards to my previous Kenmore vacuum (it was an Elegance in Spring Green) I am able to use those bags in this vacuum. I’m probably leaving something out but off the top of my head that’s what I wanted to convey. I would recommend this vacuum.

This is the best vacuum you can buy the suction and power head are unreal and It’s awesome on pet hair the electric pet tool is fantastic it work so well on my cats scratching post.. I would highly recommend this product .
