Snickers dislikes these and that’s perfect!
We set up our Lionel and Plasticville train set on a table, knowing our cat Snickers is so nosy! Decided to try these plastic mats, hoping they would work, because I didn’t know of any other option. Well, I mistakenly tramped on them several times, and that was enough to frighten her to “stay away!!”. That was in November, we’re almost in January and she hasn’t gone near it. They do make a loud crunching sound that she doesn’t like. Even with me stepping on them accidently, they have not cracked. Plasticville will go on for many years unscathed!!!!!

Dog no longer jumps on the couch!
Sure they are a pain to set up every time we leave the house and hope one day she will learn not to jump on the couch and we won’t have to use them anymore but we installed a camera to monitor and found that if we don’t put them on the couch, she jumps right up when we leave (sneaky dog). We are working on training her but she comes from a previous house where she was allowed on furniture so the classic – you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Would highly recommend for anyone who is trying to train an animal, these work great!

Clearly my dog is not deterred
Nothing wrong with this product at all, but my dog wasn’t phased. I got this to keep her from sneaking behind our couch when it storms and she gets scared and wants to hide, and at first she didn’t want to go back there but all it took was one loud thunder and her fear was stronger than her discomfort. So this was a fail. But maybe other animals will hate it more than she did

Unfortunately, product did not hold up and did not work.
I was hesitant to believe the reviews which said the product didn’t work very well but after trying it, I can see how it doesn’t. I witnessed a squirrel walk right across it, and later on, a cat did the same. The other reviews which said the product is lightweight and flimsy are correct. A good wind could blow it around my concrete patio. Perhaps each of the plastic squares could be secured if they were set on top of the soil in a garden? Possibly, but that is not how I needed to use them. They are made of lightweight, brittle plastic. The little spikes seem to be sharp, but the product is so flimsy the spikes became smashed. (See photo.). Each plastic square is small, and they move around very easily and separate from one another, unless you can find a way to tie them together. If you need them to cover a large area, you have to buy several units, which will end up costing you a lot. I found this item to be very pricey for what it is and not durable at all. I had to buy enough to make a particular area of my patio critter-proof and this proved to be expensive, useless, and ultimately a waste of money. They are being returned. (I’m disappointed as wanted it to work so badly!)

Questionable Effectiveness
Did not find these effective for the purpose I purchased. The cats just pretty much knocked them out of the way and continued to scratch at doors and doorframes, anyway.

Work great
Did the trick. Was watching my daughter’s cat, and she urinated on the couch. Found these and they deter her from jumping on the couch. They can be stacked and put under the couch when we aren’t cat sitting. Perfect solution

Amazing….
OK – let me first begin by saying that if you are looking for something like this, you have troubles like I did. My sweet kitty knows that the kitchen counter is a “no-no”, so she simply waits until I leave the house, or go to bed, before exploring to her hearts content. Grrr….of course, I am a dedicated pet owner, and she is an exclusively inside cat, so I needed a solution. I was very hesitant to pay almost $23 for some silly plastic sheets. But, like I said, out of desperation, I bought one pack. The first night I heard a huge thump and this worked for about 3 nights until she saw the places on the counter where I didn’t have the plastic sheets. So, she simply started jumping on those areas. I went to order more, and they were out of stock. I started putting down big sheets of aluminum foil (huge pain!) hoping my house wouldn’t catch on fire because the firemen would think I was a crazy nut! When I saw these were back in stock, I immediately bought another pack and am back to having my counters look more uniform – and putting these out is easier than aluminum foil every day. These are really overpriced for what they are, but the results are priceless. I don’t regret buying them for a minute for the peace of mind knowing that I don’t have cat paw germs all over my kitchen counters!

My new furniture is safe from the dog as long as I remember to put on the mats. The clear ones are almost invisible. It’s easy to stack the mats and slide them under the couch when people are over to visit.

the mats are too light keep blowing away have to peg them down on grass makes mowing bit of extra work. not for me
