Sturdy Earth friendly product!
I love these trash bags! They fit conveniently and snuggly in my can (while other similar style brands are too tight and tear when placing). Very durable for a biodegradable product! I have them on my subscription plan so I never run out!

Actually Compostable
There are a lot of green trash bags that advertise they’re compostable while they actually aren’t, BUT THESE ARE! I get them in all sizes for various cans around my home. Just be careful to not dump a lot of liquids them, or they’ll start to break down before you can take them out to the trash cart.

Sturdy bags that work great for commercial compost service
I signed up with a local commercial compost company and they gave us a bucket to use for our compost scraps. I wanted to use bags in the buckets to make it easier to transfer to our larger bin…. I was using another brand of bags before (rhymes with BlioBlag) and we were having to be VERY careful about trying to remove the bag from the bucket, getting a lot of breakage/leaks, etc. I saw this brand and since they were BPI certified I gave them a try. WAY better. The bags seem to be a little bit thicker than the other brand and way more sturdy. We put in coffee grounds and leftovers and other slightly wet things and it holds up great (lasting a week). I try not to pour any liquids in there directly but otherwise everything else goes in! Definitely will keep purchasing these!

Good compostable bags
We have been using these bags for several months now. They fit our 13 gal kitchen garbage can just fine – they are durable enough to hold a full bag of garbage. The only issue we have not quite figured out how to solve is how to close the top of the bag when it is full. In order to tie a knot, you have to leave a significant portion of the bag empty to be able to have enough material to tie the knot. We could buy twisty ties, but that defeats the purpose of having sustainable compostable bags. What we have done is just fold the top of the garbage and leave it at that. No problems really with that. I was worried at first that the bags would decompose too quickly (if I had wet or messy garbage in them) and they do not. I would say it takes about 3 months for them to really start decomposing. Also, I have noticed that they don’t decompose 100%. I would say they decompose to about 75%. Considering I have seen no other bags that do better than this, that still hold messy wet garbage without breaking down right away, I am happy with it.

One Year Review: Durable and Compostable
I was initially hesitant to purchase plastic-alternative trashbags fearing they would compare in utility and strength. It was also greatly discouraging to hear that most “compostable” plant-based polymer bags likely are destined to the same longevity as plastic because 1) they can only break down in an industrial composting facility which is not available and 2) many landfills are too deprived of oxygen to facilitie decomposition of anything. This however turned out to be greatly misleading after talking directly to my local landfill operations. Trash is sufficiently aerated by mixing or is not compacted for a period long enough to allow these bags to break down.I had lightly buried a bag and will update this review as it decomposes. My first attempt, which I unfortunately did not document, did disintegrate greatly in about 7 months.These Green Earth bags have never leaked or broke on me. I use these in two different households and have used 200 between them in one years time. If you leave them in a bin too long (about 4 days) they “sweat” a bit of condensation on the bottom but now I add a paper towel underneath just in case. It is certainly worth the switch. I am more at ease knowing I no longer directly support the plastic bag industry.

bags were tearing and shredding!
These bags are meant to break down. It was the main reason I have been using them. The problem is the bags in the roll were already breaking down and beginning to shred and tare! I had to toss out many and be gentle and careful not to pull too hard to tare off a new bag without damaging the next bag’s bottom. I made it to the end of the roll but had to toss the last 10 bags as each was completely breaking down and shredding beyond my fix, which was to tie a knot at the end of the bag where it had torn so I could use what was left of the bag.One box lasts about 10 months at my house. So I figure the roll was already old and breaking down before I purchased it. The ones I purchased before this were newly made and never did this.Frustrating, annoying and wasteful.I will not be purchasing this brand’s bags anymore.

We expected no problem on our bins being that they are much less volume than these bags. But they don’t really fit. Fortunately they are more stretchy than most compostable bags I’ve seen and we can just manage but it is time consuming and fussy.

Compost pail for dog poop. Not very sturdy. The bottom seam falls apart after a few days of use. What a disgusting mess.
