Replaced my paper towels
For a long time, I’ve been trying to replace paper towels in my kitchen. In the past few years, I’ve used Swedish dish cloths, but they got to a point that it was time to throw them out. I’d always gotten a bunch of ads about Biom so I figured I’d give it a shot.The wipes themselves are small, thin sheets that feel like a damp paper towel. They’re ideal for cleaning up countertops and our kitchen table. We don’t have a huge kitchen in our apartment, so one sheet is usually enough. For particularly tough spots that a towel can’t wipe away, I just use the rough side of the sponge and finish with the towel. Then the space looks pretty much perfect.One of the things I like most is the modern design of the container they come in. It doesn’t look like the other ugly cleaning products I have to hide away. Plus, one of the biggest gripes I had with my Swedish dish cloths is that I can’t use them on particularly grody parts of my kitchen and not feel weird about having to sanitize them before using them again.I also live in California and composting is pretty easy here, so we just throw them into our compost bin. It’s pretty guilt-free. Ideally, we’ll use a combination of Biom and Swedish dish cloths for maximum sustainable cleaning–but I feel good about my decision to use Biom only in the meantime.

Fantastic Eco-Friendly Wipes!

Some good, some bad
For the container, it seems high quality. Mine appeared to be used when I got it despite ordering a new one. It was dusty and smelled a bit like it already had some wipes in it–so my first use of the wipes was to wipe down the dispenser. I don’t really care but it’s a little annoying considering the cost. It’s pretty steep for what you get. It is a nice container, but I guess I’m not sure how it’s that much different than ordering the refills and putting them in an empty container from another brand of wipes, unless you’re leaving it out on the counter or have it in a guest space where the aesthetic appeal matters a lot.As far as the wipes themselves go, they’ve got a nice, inoffensive citrus scent. If you’re sensitive to smells, I think you’d be all right with this one. The wipes feel gentle on hands; I used one to wipes some soil off of my hands, and my hands don’t feel dry or sticky. They seem relatively durable but not to the point where you’re cleaning the whole counter with just one, so I’d keep expectations realistic there.Overall not a bad purchase, but I think a lower price point would be more appropriate for what’s here.

Nice container and effective wipes, but how much?
These wipes are good, they have some nice features, but are they really worth $40+? That’s a different question that only you can answer.They come in a nice box, like a presentation box, which also does a good job of protecting the wipes during transit. Inside, there are 2 packets of wipes and a container. The container is on the smaller side, and it’s really well made. There is rubber on the bottom of the container to stop it slipping, and the lid opens easily and nicely. Everything looks and feels like quality.To get everything up and running, you need to open the wipes packet and feed the center wipe through the hole in the container. I found this a little tricky, not the feeding, but purely locating which wipe to use. After a couple of failed attempts, everything was up and running.As far as the wipes themselves are concerned, they are pretty good. They have a nice scent that is pleasant and not overpowering. They are nice and moist and do a good job of cleaning. I love the fact that they are biodegradable.
