  1. Rky Mtn Hi

    Much mor than I expected.
I did not expect this product to be very efficient. I was really surprised. I had cooked some pork meat (stew meat size pieces). I did heat them up some before I started to shred “some”. The results were very positive. I can’t chew too much and I could eat with little or now trouble. Besides, shredding will allow me to freeze some and take out what I need – save me money. I’m not sure how to work the “tool” that was provide, there wasn’t any info on that. I don’t care, I love this item and I’m thinking of some Christmas presents for neighbors.

    Game changer!
Game changer! We used to shred our chicken with forks, but this seamlessly shreds it with minimal effort! It is a little smaller than I expected, but where it lacks in size, it makes up in shredding. In fact, we use it for any type of meat. The prongs are not sharp to touch, but they easily pierce the meat and hold it in place. The bottom has a strong grip that sticks onto our counter, which definitely helps. You wouldn’t think the lid would fit onto a chunky piece of meat, but it does! It’s easy to clean too! I thought it looked flimsy at first, but it has held up so well!Definitely recommend! A kitchen staple now!

    Highly recommended for busy moms
The best kitchen hack for busy moms. I seldom do product reviews but this one deserves it. Aside from affordable price the quality I can say is just right for the price. I did shred a whole breast for just a minute and I am so surprised. Really value for money and saves alot of time.

    Works
Okay at first I put a piece of chicken in there and kind of took it by the handles and was doing left and right and it didn’t work. But I was determined but I kept doing it left to right left to right and it freaking works! I have recommended this product to so many of my friends and family it literally does shred whatever you put in there. I have put lunch meat in there steak chicken it’s usually for my dogs so they have to have it shredded but it doesn’t matter if this thing really really works like I said I recommend it you just have to give it a chance it doesn’t just work like the first couple of turns you have to keep turning it back and forth. I’m thinking about buying some more

    Works well, with some caveats.
It does shred chicken. Good start, right? It works best for me if I tear or cut the chicken into smallish pieces that will fit between the spikes in the bottom half, and I also had to learn how much to put in there at a time. Too much and it’s difficult to get it all shredded because it sort of clogs. Not saying you can’t put quite a bit in there and get it to work, just saying it can be a bit more difficult. Too little chicken and it seems like most of it will just be pushed around and the spikes are ineffective. I think there needs to be enough in there so that there’s some friction, etc, making it possible for all the bits to end up in the path of the spikes. It takes just a little experimentation to find the sweet spot…easy to do when you have about 10 lbs of chicken to shred on your first try like I did… I.e., there’s a bit of a learning curve.I see some complaints about these things slipping around on whatever surface. Mine has grippy pads on the bottom and stays exactly where I put it. If yours doesn’t stay put then maybe you got a defective one?Cons:1 – I bought the 8″ version but that’s the measurement from the outside of one handle to the other. The inside of the shredder base is only about 5 1/4″ (~13 cm). If you’re going to process large amounts like I do, the larger size will be your better choice. Even then, I’m sure, the advertised 10.8″ will be much smaller internally (I don’t have one so can’t measure it for you).2 – The top fits nicely over the base and is very easy to turn. The handles turn easily and the top glides along the outer rim of the base with little friction. I think the main reason the top slides so well is that the rim of the base that the top rests and glides on has a series of bumps or ridges, which I’m sure are there to reduce contact and therefore reduce friction. Unfortunately, after processing ~10 lbs of chicken in one go, those bumps on mine are significantly worn. When I noticed this, I looked closely at the counter I’d been working on and found black plastic dust. Did I end up with any of that in my chicken? The wear is external to where the chicken is shredded but you have to turn the thing upside down to dump out the chicken once it’s shredded, so I don’t know. Also, even assuming the chicken remains plastic free, will it continue to work well if it continues to wear? Again, I don’t know. And maybe I’m just pushing down too hard while I turn it?3 – The depth of the base is about 2″ (~5 cm) and the spikes are about 1 3/4″ (~45 mm?) long. Because the gaps between the spikes are, of necessity, narrow, it’s very difficult to thoroughly clean by hand. Good luck finding a brush with 2″ bristles. And the spikes are all 4-sided, with 4 lengthwise grooves each. As with most things, especially those made of plastic, the biggest issue for me is grease. After I scrubbed and rinsed, I could still see grease and had to rewash twice before I was satisfied…and I couldn’t even see whether those grooves on the spikes were clean. I think I would only recommend you buy one of these if you can put it in a dishwasher.

    Great product!
After shredding meats with forks, and even using my stand mixer with the paddle attachment, this quite honestly only took a few seconds to shred an entire rotisserie chicken. If you’re looking for something that’s quick and easy to make your kitchen life better, then buy this product!

    Life changing!
This is best thing I have ever bought. When I tell you, I’ve been delaying buying this and just letting myself struggle to shred chicken. I finally bought it and it is soooo easy to use and makes everything go a lot faster. It cleans easy as well. And easy to store.

    Really works
I was a little nervous at first because it was plastic, which are the blades. I was pleasantly surprised how well this shredder works. My only suggestion is it’s easier to shred chat and comes right out of the oven or if you boil the chicken, I would recommend it to anybody.
