What is the spongey side of the sponge made from?
The yellow, spongey side is made from 100% tree cellulose, fully plant-based just like the rest of the sponge 🙂
What is the brown, scrubby side made from?
The brown, scrubby side is made from 100% coconut husks, and is also fully plant-based. It’s that simple!
How long does each sponge last?
bioGo sponges tend to last at least 20% longer than normal plastic sponges. If you’d like to stretch the life of each sponge further, simply put them in the washing machine to give them a new lease of life!
Is there any plastic in the packaging?
Nope! The packaging is made entirely from recyclable cardboard and has no nasty surprises in terms of plastic bags, covers, or anything like that.
Are bioGo sponge hygienic?
Moreso than the traditional ones. Due to the porous nature of the tree cellulose material, they are quick drying and therefore more hygienic! Many alternative sponges stay moist for longer and that means bacteria builds up much faster.

I was specifically looking for a biodegradable sponge that would align with my eco-conscious habits without sacrificing function — and I’m really happy with this find. They wear out pretty quickly but I think that’s pretty standard for biodegradable sponges. I like having the whole box so when one does wear out I can just grab another. I would probably order them again.

Most durable sponges ever.
These are the best kitchen sponges I’ve ever used, and I’m old. Yes, the scrubby side separates from the sponge after a week or so, but both parts are still intact, and I’m using the pair now after five weeks and the sponge is still in near perfect condition. In fact, the little remnant of scrubby left on one side is good for cleaning things with a little food stuck on them. Don’t throw them out when they separate, just keep using the two parts. If you’re worried about germs, throw them wet into the microwave for a couple minutes.

No plastic, worth every penny.
I feel like I got this box at Costco I’m not used to having such a big box of sponges. I’m gentle with squeezing to make sure it doesn’t fall apart I never squeeze the sides together. It’s been at least two weeks and my one sponge is doing great. I also have bottle brushes and stuff I use to make different dishes easier so that probably helps as well. Personally these are a new favorite for me.

A bit stiff, but good
Very happy to find fully biodegradable sponges. A lot of brands say their sponge is made of cellulose but then include plastics (sometimes mixed in with walnut or coconut) for the scrubber part, yuck. We are trying to get microplastics out of our lives and this sponge is perfect for that!! I put them in my kidults Christmas stockings to get the on board with biodegradable products. Will update after using another month if it doesn’t perform as expected.

The sponges are great! They get things clean, and do not seem to deteriorate with use. Haven’t had them long enough to know how well they biodegrade, but as they are made entirely from coconut husks and wood pulp cellulose, I expect that will be fine, too.

Great sponges!! Not only are they good for the environment but they last a good while! I cut mine in half as the sponges are a good size which makes them last even longer! Fantastic product and I would highly recommend. 🙏🌸

These are very good. My only complaint is that the scrubber is a bit too stiff to be practical, but it works. (I cannot imagine how it could “hurt one’s hands” as some reviewers have complained.)They last as long as any other cellulose sponge (which is the only kind I ever saw in America) & which in my mind, cellular sponges have always been vastly superior to British washing up sponges which are too “light” & hold way too much soap & water anyway. I’ll buy them again.
