Great to hang lights on our pergola. We drilled a pilot hole and then put these in. Put a strings of solar lights up an it looks so good!

Drill pilot holes before screwing these in place
I used these to hang a 48 ft run of string lights on my screened-in deck which was framed with Hardie Board. Three of the screws snapped and broke even though I pre-drilled pilot holes. I’m sure they would have been fine if I screwed into wood. Overall they got the job done and I have no complaints.

Great for hanging flag
Works as advertised. Just what I was looking for, to hang a flag through the eyelets, with the fastener threads screwed up in the ceiling my porch. Doesn’t have a lot of use yet, but it had several days with strong winds and no issues.

Not very good for installation in anything other than thick wood; hard to operate the clip
The “safety” clip, which stops whatever is hung on the hook from slipping off, is quite cumbersome and difficult to work. You will definitely need two hands to remove whatever’s hung, one to gorilla the clip back and the other to lift the item off the hook. If you’re planning to hang Christmas lights (or the like), be careful using the light string to push the clip out of the way when hanging. It is stiff enough that you may actually break the light string.The screw threads are small, so they will not grab well on things like 1) a hole drilled in concrete/mortar or 2) a hollow plastic fence post. They are best suited for installation in wood that is thick enough to accommodate the entire length of the threaded end.
